Incomplete emptying
This symptom is relatively common and usually benign and transient. It can be due to a number of factors including internal hemorrhoids, anal fissure, irritable bowel syndrome and ulcerative proctitis. Sometimes the examiner finds absolutely nothing at all. The sense of incomplete emptying can be a symptom of rectal cancer, especially if accompanied by blood and mucus.
